After certifying compliance with all biosafety protocols, the Los Garzones de Montería airport directives confirmed the opening of pilot flights as of September 1.
This was confirmed by the municipal Health Secretariat after verifying in practice, compliance with each of the measures established in resolution No. 1054 of 2020, issued from the Ministry of Health to protect coronavirus infections.
The routes would be from the Olaya Herrera airport in Medellín to the Garzones de Montería airport and vice versa; with up to two daily flights.
The opening of the Barranquilla-Montería-Barranquilla air route with up to three weekly flights was also confirmed.
The mayor of Montería, Carlos Ordosgoitia Sanín stated that “the idea is that the first week of September we have already enabled the air routes that would be to and from Bogotá; the other would be Montería – Medellín and Rionegro – Montería ”.
To date, Easyfly airline has confirmed the start of activities and is awaiting the other air transport companies.
“These days we are finishing verifying the airlines, logically the security protocols will be on the part of the airport and on the part of the airlines for the attention of passengers,” said the president.
In the morning hours of this Thursday, August 20, the Easyfly airline reported that it permanently reactivates the operation of 10 routes from the cities of Medellín, Bucaramanga, Cali, Bogotá and Barranquilla.
