Claudia Tagbo in “The crime suits her so well”: “I like the gruff side of my character”

In December 2019, fiction The crime suits him so well attracted 4.8 million viewers. In view of the success, the two decided to make a collection of it. In this new episode, Claudia Tagbo takes on the role of Gaby Molina, a cheeky police captain with a strong character.

What attracted you to this role?

My character is nice, he changes a little from the ordinary. I like her strong personality, her gruff side, Gaby is straightforward, as they say. I also liked the fact that it was shot in regions.

The pilot has become a collection, have you hesitated to make a long-term commitment?

No, I didn’t see it like that. Between the first episode and the audience, it was a nice meeting, and I like the collective side of the projects. However, there is a very good atmosphere in the team, whether it is the actress Hélène Seuzaret or my friends Bruno Lochet and Julien Ratel. If it had been a 6 x 56 minute tour all year round, I would have said no. There, that gives me time to continue doing theater and cinema.

Does Gaby look like you?

I think the writers used my energy to create the character. As for reading and phrasing, we have little time, so we try to put that in the mouth beforehand. Afterwards, we don’t really look alike. She’s funny, but if a cop like her existed, it would still be scary (laughs) !

There is a lot of humor, do you bring any ideas?

This young team came to me to print my paw, so that’s what I do when reading the texts. We all have the opportunity to suggest things. Everything is not guarded, but some valves come from me.

How did the shoot go?

The pilot took place in the Paris region and the two unreleased films were filmed in Angoulême. We finished in October. It was intense especially since we had to respect the sanitary measures due to Covid, distances, masks… It was not easy in terms of energy, but the pleasure of shooting was worth more than anything.

You played the play Amis, in March, with Kad Merad and Lionel Abelanski…

We were supposed to resume on November 16, but that was not the case. We are very touched because we like the piece. The audience was there for the eight spring performances and the end-of-year reservations had gone well. We are all in apnea, we wait, but we are ready. I really want to go back on stage because that’s what I like. I had started to write my new show, but, given the traffic jam for the venues, I will give priority to my friends. Otherwise, I shot in the series Brothers, for OCS, and I will start a Luxembourgish feature film in March.
