Belarus defeated Sweden 1: 0 (0: 0, 0: 0, 1: 0) in Group A.
The Belarusians had met the Swedish national team nine times before in the world championships, but none of them had managed to win.
The Belarusians managed to score the only goal in the first minute of the third period, when after a long attack, the puck was scored by Germans Nesterovs. He was successfully played by Mikhail Stefanovich and Stanislav Lopachuk.
Denny Taylor caught all 32 shots in the Belarusian national team goal.
In the first subgroup A game of the day, Slovakia defeated Great Britain 2: 1. In the evening, the Danish and Swiss national teams will meet in the third game of the group.
The Russian Olympic Committee (OKR) team and Slovakia have scored six points in two games, Denmark and Switzerland have scored three points in one game, Belarus has scored two points in the same two, while Sweden, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom have failed two points and are without points.
Meanwhile, in subgroup B, in which Latvia also plays, Kazakhstan participated in the “bull” series for the second day in a row.

Kazakhstan’s national team defeated Finland with 2: 1 (0: 0, 1: 1, 0: 0, 0: 0, 1: 0) “bulls”.
Anton Lundel put Finland in the lead in the 14th minute of the second period, but two and a half minutes later Kirill Panjukov got 1: 1.
Nikita Mikhail realized the winning “bull”, but in the Finnish team, the only successful of the four attempts was Oliver Kaski.
The leader of Group B with six points in two games is the German national team, Kazakhstan, Latvia and Finland have earned four points each, Norway has three points in two matches, the USA and Canada have not scored in one match, but Italy has lost two points.
The 16 teams participating in the tournament are divided into two groups of eight units each, which guarantees seven games for each team in the subgroup competition. After one round of group matches, the four best teams in each subgroup will continue to fight for medals in the quarterfinals, but the weakest teams in the tournament will not leave the elite division this year.
Minsk and Riga had to host the 2021 World Championship this year, however, on January 18, at the IIHF Council meeting, Minsk was deprived of the rights of the organizers of the 2021 World Championship. In February, the IIHF Council voted to approve Riga as the sole organizer of the 2021 World Hockey Championship.
