An examination of Alexey Petrov’s phone has been appointed, the city prosecutor of Sofia, Iliana Kirilova, announced to the media.
“How long it will take – I can’t tell you. With one “opening” of the phone, some stains can be added, but we had difficulty in finding experts,” said Kirilova.
“These phones give us information. Such experts are hard to find,” added the city prosecutor. However, she clarified that at the moment there is no permission from the supervising prosecutor to release any information on the case.
61-year-old Alexey Petrov was killed on August 16 at noon while he was walking on Vitosha. There were two fatal bullets – in the head and in the back. During the attempt, the woman with whom Petrov was in the mountains was also shot.
Already in the first month, the Ministry of the Interior said that they had no suspects in the case. Since then, there have been dozens of reports of breakthroughs in the investigation and upcoming arrests of the guarantors and the perpetrator, but none of this has yet been confirmed by forensics.
