Actress Eva Matalová of the Zlín Municipal Theater died on Thursday. The famous artist was 89 years old and during her career she played more than 200 roles in theater and television. Matalová’s death was announced on Facebook by the Zlín Theater.
Acting legend Eva Matalová died on Thursday at the age of 89. She announced her departure Zlin Municipal Theater, where Matalová played 174 roles out of 220 she managed during her long and rich career. She also started acting in the Zlín theater when she played the character of Julka Kolářová in Miroslav Stehlík’s play High Summer Sky.
Theater visitors could also see her in plays such as Marysha or Cat’s Game. Matalová continued acting to a very old age. Her last stage role was Irma Gabrhelová from the production of the famous novel The Žítkov Goddess, which premiered in 2014.
But Malátová did not shy away from television roles either, so she was seen in the series Ranch U Zelené sedmy or Chetnické humoresky or in the film Five with a Star. “Thanks to her spontaneity, unpretentiousness and non-pathetic acting, she was able to impress in the characters of kind, straightforward, cheerful and ordinary women,” the theater in Zlín reminds her.
His colleagues also remember his activity and his love for the theater. “Although she has retreated into seclusion in recent years, she has consistently followed events at the theater and she has been rooting for him until her final days,” the theater revealed. The last farewell to Eva Malátová is expected in the ceremonial hall of the Zlín crematorium on Wednesday 4 January.
