A woman with signs of a violent death was found by Codes residents outside a local shop. Most everyone in the village knew her and her family.
Locals say that after a failed marriage and the separation of three children, the young woman returned to Kode to her mother. However, according to eyewitnesses, both the mother and her daughter enjoyed having fun. Of course, the girl is in a new relationship. The young woman was often seen with signs of physical violence – the violence was regular, but both were used to drinking alcohol, informs the TV3 program “Degpunktā”.
As revealed by the representative of the State Police, Dace Kalniņa, the preliminary investigations revealed that the woman, born in 2002, had been drinking on December 3 and that a conflict may have arisen. Personal injury, possibly resulting in death, was caused as a result. Investigations are now underway to establish the motive for the crime and the circumstances of the death.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of committing the crime.
The police initially initiated a criminal case for murder, however, later the criminal case was reclassified to intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, which was the cause of the victim’s death.
