A BOLA – Table Tennis: Marcos Freitas defeated by world number one (Olympic Games)

Marcos Freitas was eliminated in the round of 16 of the Olympic table tennis tournament. The Portuguese was defeated by the Chinese Fan Zhendong (1-4), current leader of the world hierarchy.

Currently ranked 24th in the ranking, Marcos Freitas conceded the first partials (6-11, 6-11 and 2-11), managed to recover in the third (11-4) and ended up giving up in the fourth (3-11). All in all, the Portuguese finishes the singulars test in ninth place.
