2023-2024 School Calendar in Mexico: Megabridge, Easter Holidays, and No Class Days

Mexico City — The December holidays in Mexico’s preschool, primary and secondary schools are about to end. The students will return to the classrooms next Monday, January 8, according to the 2023-2024 School Calendar of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP).

This month, classes will be suspended again on Friday, January 26, as teachers will have a School Technical Council session, becoming the first bridge of 2024 for basic education students.

When is there a megabridge in Mexico schools?

The next megabridge will arrive in March, days before the Easter holidays.

Classes will be suspended on Friday, March 15, 2024 due to administrative discharge, coinciding with the holiday on Monday, March 18, due to the birth of Benito Juárez.

Activities will resume on Tuesday, March 19, after four days of rest, if the weekend is considered.

In addition to this bridge, for the remainder of the school year the suspension of work due to holidays is scheduled for: Monday, February 5, for the day of the Mexican Constitution; on Wednesday, May 1 for Labor Day and on Wednesday, May 15 for Teacher’s Day.

Generally, the SEP establishes the suspension of activities on May 5 for the commemoration of the Battle of Puebla, but this 2024 it falls on a Sunday, a day when there are no classes in the country.

When are the Easter holidays?

The next school vacation period in Mexico will arrive at the end of March. The Easter holidays planned by the SEP will begin on Monday, March 25 and will end on Friday, April 5, 2024. Students will return to classrooms on Monday, April 8.

The school pre-registration process for the 2024-2025 period will be next February 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14 and 15, 2024.

The next deliveries of evaluation reports to mothers, fathers and guardians should occur from March 19 to 21, 2024 and from July 15 to 16, 2024.

The session of the participatory school health committee and cleaning days at the school will take place on August 24 and 25.

When does the 2023-2024 school year end?

Classes will end on July 16, 2024 for the 2023-2024 school year.
