Yuri Shatunov, the soloist of the group “Laskovij Mai”, died at the age of 48

According to a source in the publication, the former soloist of “Lakovij Mai” died in an ambulance. The cause of death was believed to have been a heart attack.

Yuri Shatunov was born in 1973 in the Bashkortostan SSR (Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic of Bashkortostan). The artist spent his teenage years in an orphanage – his parents were divorced, his mother died when Satunov was 11 years old. At the orphanage, he met Sergei Kuznetsov, who was the leader of an amateur group, and then the history of the Laskovy Mai group began.

The group of Soviet boys from Moscow was founded by Russian songwriter, composer and musician Sergei Kuznetsov. “Laskovij Mai” was once called “the legends of the 80’s and 90’s”.

The band had several soloists, giving several dozen concerts a month, sometimes performing in several cities at the same time. In 1992, Satunov left the band and began his solo career. After Satunov’s departure, neither his former band nor he could reach his previous level of popularity.
