Purple red expresses pure joy without inhibitions, explain their choice from the Pantone Institute
Viva Magenta – this is the color of 2023, traditionally announced in December by the Pantone Color Institute.

“In the age of technology, we try to draw inspiration from nature and what is real. Viva Magenta comes from the red family. Rooted in the primordial, it reconnects us to the original matter. Invoking the forces of nature, color stimulates our spirit, helping us build our inner strength,” says Letrice Eiseman, executive director of the institute.
This year’s color of the year expresses pure joy and encourages experimentation and uninhibited self-expression. Viva Magenta welcomes anyone with the same zest for life and the same rebellious spirit. It’s a bold color, full of wit and inclusive,” noted the Pantone Color Institute website.
“We chose this color because we thought it was an unconventional hue for an unconventional time, something that could present us with a new vision,” the institute’s executive director told Time magazine.
The Pantone Color Institute is a research center of the Pantone company which has been determining the color of the year since 2000. From the very beginning, the idea of launching a certain tone that would dominate for a full 12 months was a worldwide hit.
Choosing a color of the year has been called a “self-fulfilling prophecy.” And the reason is obvious, every time it is announced what will be the main shadow, changes occur in hundreds of areas. Designers, manufacturers and sellers from various industries feel compelled to stick to the current line. And if until now they have neglected to use this color in their production, they are in a hurry to make corrections. Color doesn’t just enter the wardrobe and make-up, it becomes part of the interior furnishings, appliances, it also appears in cars.
Blue with a red-violet tint Pantone 17-3938 real pear trees has been named color of the year for 2022.
