People who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 are 20 times more likely to die from the coronavirus than fully vaccinated people, according to a recent study published by the Texas federal government. announced the online news agency Axios in a post on Tuesday.
To determine the results of the vaccination in Texas, researchers from the Department of Public Health analyzed data from electronic laboratory reports, death certificates and the state immunization record.
The analysis included a period from January 15 to October 1, 2021 with a focus on four weeks – from September 4 to October 1, which allowed researchers to measure the effect of vaccination against COVID-19 in a period during which the more contagious Delta variant spread throughout Texas.
In addition to the dizzying difference in mortality, it turns out that unvaccinated people are 13 times more likely to become infected with coronavirus than fully vaccinated people.
The study also found that vaccination against COVID-19 was effective in preventing coronavius infection and death in people of all ages.
