There is an American top scientist who claims to have found a drug against the coronavirus. His research team is working on a drug that builds on five antibodies that also helped against SARS at the time.
“We have further developed them in our laboratory and they now also appear to block and stop the SARS-CoV-2 virus very powerfully,” said Jacob Glanville, known for the documentary series Pandemic on Netflix.
The big advantage is that test procedures can be partially skipped, because they were already performed for SARS in 2002. “We can piggyback on two years of research,” said the top physician. Therefore, clinical trials on humans could already be conducted at the end of the summer. Ideally, the drug could be deployed on a limited scale in September.
The drug works in corona patients within minutes. “It’s sort of a short-term vaccine, but one that works right away,” said Glanville, who runs his own company in San Francisco Distributed Bio has. “We usually only see the effect of a vaccine after six to eight weeks, while this already works within twenty minutes. You can administer it to a patient who is infected with Covid-19 and after twenty minutes his or her body is completely full of the conscious antibodies. ” However, the vaccine will only provide protection for eight to ten weeks.
