Warns that you can smell pig manure in Salaspils

“We all want to use meat products not imported, but produced in Latvia. We also want to use agricultural products grown in Latvia, which are fertilized naturally, and not with chemical fertilizers,” emphasizes Edvins Vasks, the head of the Agriculture Department at Ancers.

In order to obtain high-quality grass and grain crops, Ancers has entered into agreements with several farms for the removal of manure to agricultural land.

The regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers stipulate that the time for manure removal is from March 15 to October 20. In order to take into account the interests of the population and to reduce the spread of odors during export, the company will take into account wind directions and other conditions as much as possible, trying to carry out the work as soon as possible.

Ancers calls on the population to show understanding and support for these agricultural processes.

According to the information available in “Firmas.lv”, SIA “Ancers” was founded in 1994. The company breeds pigs. Last year, it had a turnover of two million euros and a loss of more than half a million euros.

LETA has already reported that the African swine fever affected the “Ancers” farm “Rukas” in Krimulda region on January 13, 2017, where 5023 pigs were eliminated during the week. On February 7 of the same year, the disease broke out on the second farm in Bunči, Salaspils region, where a herd of more than 8,500 pigs was eliminated.
