Vigil to honor the nurse robbed in Times Square

Friends and family gathered on Monday to remember the New Jersey nurse who died over the weekend after, according to police, she was pushed by an assailant in Times Square.

Bayonne resident Maria Ambrocio died Sunday morning after suffering a severe blow to the head due to her injuries.

Ambrocio was remembered for working on the front lines during COVID at the Bayonne Medical Center and for being part of her community church congregation.

According to investigators, Jermaine Foster pushed Ambrocio as he fled after stealing another woman’s cell phone.

Foster faces second-degree murder charges.
