Mercedes – Benz presented its first all-electric limousine, EQS, a model that will be launched in the second half of the year in Europe, will cost over 100,000 euros and has a variant in which the promised range is 770 km. On the new platform, the Germans will also launch electric SUVs. The new model wants to be a competitor for Tesla Motors. EQS is the electrical equivalent of S Klasse and will be produced in Germany. The car is 5.2 meters long and the top speed is 210 km / h, while the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h will be done in 6.2 seconds for the EQS 450+ version and 4.3 seconds for EQS 580 4MATIC. The battery is 107.8 KWh. Charging takes 10 hours on a single outlet.

Optional will be what the Germans call Hyperscreen, a huge curved touchscreen, the size of the dashboard, consisting of three sections: one with the dashboard clocks, one with the infontainment system + air conditioning settings and a section for the front passenger.

EQS is the first model to use the dedicated EVA (Electric Vehicle Architecture) platform on which it will add more models, starting with a sedan called EQE and an SUV called EQS.
