UDMR will appoint the next People’s Advocate. Who could replace Renate Weber

A former prosecutor with more than 20 years of experience in the field, Gyula is accused in the local press of being “friends” with extremist groups.

Csoma Botond motivated that Gyula is a “balanced leader”, with an “impeccable CV”. The Hungarian proposal had an experience of over 20 years in the prosecutor’s office, working at the Prosecutor’s Offices attached to the Targu-Secuiesc, Turda, Cluj-Napoca Courts and the Cluj Tribunal. Since 1999 he has also been a teacher. Last year, Gyula was appointed deputy general prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Cluj Court of Appeal, but a few months later, in December, he retired.

In terms of studies, Fabian Gyula is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca and a doctor of International Law, Herder Scholar of the University of Vienna and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Human Rights in Vienna.

Renate Weber could be fired on Wednesday


President of the Chamber of Deputies Ludovic Orban announced that the plenary of the Parliament will vote on Wednesday, June 16, a draft decision to revoke the People’s Advocate, Renate Weber.

A day ago, the Parliament rejected the activity reports of the People’s Advocate and the NAC. Previously, the specialized commissions also rejected the activity reports of the two institutions.

In a press release, the People’s Advocate claims that the rejection of activity reports is an abuse and violates constitutional and legal provisions.
