The American conservative journalist Tucker Carlson, close to former President Donald Trump, announced today that he will soon interview the Russian head of state Vladimir Putin, the world agencies reported.
“We are here to interview the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin,” said the American TV presenter in a video posted on the X social network, as quoted by AFP.
Carlson did not specify when the interview would take place. He noted that the purpose of the upcoming conversation with the Russian president is to give the Americans the opportunity to learn “as much as possible” about Russia’s point of view on the nearly two-year-old conflict with Ukraine, noted Reuters.
Tucker Carlson stated that he paid all expenses for his trip to Moscow and the interview with the Russian president with his own funds and did not receive money from anyone. We have not taken money from any government or organization,” he said in his video message in X, quoted by TASS.
In the four-minute video, the presenter explains the reasons that led him to request this interview: “We do it first of all because this is our job, we are engaged in journalism, it is our duty to inform people”. “Most Americans are not informed, they have no idea what is happening in this area – here in Russia, or 950 km from here – in Ukraine. But they should know because they are paying for a lot of it,” he added.
