“The respective batches of stabilizing ingredient exceed the legal limits allowed by the relevant regulations for ethylene oxide. (…) Froneri requires consumers not to consume the products in the said lots, advising them to destroy them or return them to the point of sale from which they purchased them. At the same time, Froneri Ice Cream Romania states through an information published on the ANSVSA website that Froneri Poland and Froneri France, as producers of the products listed above, have been informed by one of their suppliers about a regulatory issue regarding to a small number of batches of herbal stabilizing ingredients used in its ice cream production and which also affected a number of producers, as this is a common ingredient used in the manufacture of ice cream. Those batches of stabilizing ingredient exceed the legal limits permitted by the relevant ethylene oxide regulations. The herbal stabilizers used by Froneri are delivered as a mixture of different stabilizing ingredients and are used in extremely small quantities in our finished products, so it is considered very unlikely to pose a risk to the health of consumers.

“The production of goods that use the affected batches of the stabilizing ingredient has been stopped. According to the regulations in force, the affected products under our control have been placed in quarantine, and we have started a campaign to withdraw them. Recalling concerns only the products in the lots listed below with the corresponding expiry dates. All other products of Froneri Ice Cream Romania, different from the above lots are not affected. Consumer advice: As part of our strong commitment to ensuring the health and safety of our consumers, we will continue to monitor the situation and inform consumers accordingly. Froneri asks consumers not to consume the products from the above-mentioned lots, advising them to destroy them or return them to the point of sale from which they purchased them.
