The sons will no longer see the father, Tonda did not live to see the birth of his daughter. He succumbed to the covid

Two-year-old Štěpán and four-year-old Toník will never play with their father again. Maruška, who is due to be born in a month, will never know him. The woman from Sokolovsko was left alone for everything. “He loved children, he loved our family. He would do anything for us,” described the overwhelmed Radka Křičenská.

About 14 days ago, Mr. Antonín, a locksmith by profession, became infected with coronavirus. After a few days, he became busy and everything took a quick turn. An ambulance took him to the hospital, where he lost his fight for life despite the doctors’ efforts.

“They took him away, they found that his pneumonia was bilateral. They believed that it would make him young, strong,” Křičenská added.

Of course, the family tries to help the woman who is mourning her husband. The nurse moved in with her. “My sister is very brave, very strong. And I must say that she has my great respect,” said the widow’s sister Štěpánka Petrová.

Volunteer firefighters from Horní Blatná also remember their colleague and friend. That is why they also set up a place of reverence there at the fire station. “He was funny, he helped with everything,” described volunteer firefighter Petr Hájek to his colleague.

The family is also helped by soldiers from active reserves, among whom Antonín belonged. They set up a fundraiser. For Mrs. Radka, the death of her husband is not the only loss during a pandemic. A month ago, Covida was lost to her grandmother and her mother-in-law was fighting for her life at the hospital.

“Let people be careful. Yeah. That it just happened to us. We didn’t believe it either. We’re healthy – it doesn’t concern us. It concerns everyone. And still younger and younger people,” Křičenská says. According to her, coronavirus should never be underestimated.
