The 47-year-old man who today barricaded himself in the “Hadji Dimitar” district of the capital, he brutally beat a woman Wednesday night. She kicked her out of the house, barefoot and naked. That’s what the man’s neighbors say.
According to the information of OFFNews the woman is Ukrainian and they had a romantic relationship with the man. She moved in with him a few months ago.
The detained man’s name is Orlin Gigov and he was a driver for the Interior Ministry. Neighbors claim the Ukrainian woman is his second victim. 4 months ago, he again beat and kicked another woman out of the apartment.
Neighbors found the woman disfigured beyond recognition. She was thrown in front of the elevator and she didn’t even have the strength to speak.
“When we filed a complaint, 25 policemen, two ambulances and a fire truck arrived. A psychologist also came. Not for the beaten woman, but to calm that barricade», they say.
According to their reports, the police negotiated for 5 hours with the besieged. Eventually, the man came out with an ear wound and claimed the woman attacked him and he defended himself.
“Gigov explained to the cops that the Ukrainian woman was ‘from a different pack’ and they were colleagues, and the cops laughed approvingly,” the neighbors said. He also said that he has been beating her for 3 days and “at the stupid entrance there is no one to tell him a button”.
Residents in the 47-year-old man’s block say he is not under arrest and is currently repairing his apartment door.
