Vladislavs Lakše, a popular artist in sports circles in Latvia, once played basketball himself, and depicting this sport and its stars has allowed Rigans to gain world recognition and even become a representative of the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) championship team Toronto “Raptors”.

As Lakše told the Latvian television program “Sporta studija”, he used to mark the persons depicted in his works on the social platform “Instagram” and in this way was able to address the Toronto “Raptors” team, which recently became the NBA champions. Vladislav, the only general manager of the Canadian NBA club, was contacted by Bobby Webster and offered a job. Lakshe agreed without hesitation to fulfill his childhood dream by reaching an agreement with the NBA team.

Representatives of the Toronto team have been addressed by the style of Lakshe’s works of art, which fully corresponds to the image of the “Raptors” team. His first task was to create a design for the design of the entrance tickets to the game. At the end of last year, he signed a cooperation agreement for two seasons.

Vladislav also reveals that he has just started cooperating with the world’s leading sportswear brand “Nike”, which will exhibit his works in the USA, Russia and France.

The quality and high status of the Latvian artist’s works is proved by the fact that his works are published by the leading North American media “NBC Sports”, ESPN, “Bleacher Report” and others.

However, Lakshe is probably the most acclaimed since recently, as he was given the opportunity to showcase his work at the NBA All-Star Games weekend on February 15 and 16 in Chicago. With his work, Lakshe honors the memory of Kobe Brianent and his daughter Janna. He has already posted a drawing in his Instagram account that the whole world will be able to see during the NBA All-Star Game. This Instagram post with Vladislav’s drawing has earned tens of thousands of likes.

The artist reveals that he felt very disappointed to hear about Brian’s untimely death. The feeling was that a relative was dead. Lakše had received strength and started drawing when the work was ready, then there was a kind of relief, because he managed to show respect to the outstanding athlete.
