The concerts of symphony orchestras will take place in the first three weekends in Dzintari Concert Hall in Jūrmala, while in the fourth and final weekend – at the Latvian National Opera in Rīga.

The current restrictions stipulate that public events attended by both Covid-19 vaccinated and non-vaccinated visitors with a negative Covid-19 test may accommodate up to 300 people indoors and up to 500 people outdoors, regardless of the total capacity of the premises. . All visitors must present a valid digital Covid-19 certificate at the entrance for the vaccination, the fact of illness or a negative Covid-19 test, wear a face mask during the event and a distance of two meters between the seats. On the other hand, events attended only by vaccinated and Covid-19 infected people have an unlimited number of visitors and do not have to follow these safety measures. Taking into account that more than 500 tickets have already been sold for symphonic music concerts, the organizers of “Rīga Jūrmala” have decided that the concerts can be attended on the first weekend of the festival, from 16 to 18 July, by presenting a digital Covid. -19 certificates. This will avoid the need to reduce the number of visitors to concerts where more than 500 tickets have already been sold.

Given that the epidemiological situation in the country and the restrictions in force may change, the organizers will announce the final decision on the conditions for attending the first weekend concerts on July 1, informing existing and potential ticket holders accordingly. Ticket holders who will not be able to attend the concerts from July 16 to 18 due to restrictions will be offered a full refund.

“We would have liked the concerts of the opening week of the festival to be available to the widest possible audience and not to deprive existing ticket holders of the opportunity to attend one of the symphony music concerts. However, taking care of the health and safety of visitors, artists and our team, we are forced to make a difficult decision within the limits set by the government. We are aware that the situation can change rapidly, and we are ready to adapt to make all concerts available to unvaccinated people, if in the remaining time before the festival new restrictions will be accepted and concerts for mixed audiences will be allowed without the number of visitors, ”explains the festival” Riga Jurmala ” Executive Director Zane Čulkstēna.
