National Police officers have the main suspect and alleged author of the death of the murdered woman in Gijón. its lifeless body was discovered by relatives on Monday At about 2.30 pm at his home in the La Calzada neighborhood and from that moment all the work of the National Police was aimed, as a matter of priority, at discovering the author of this violent crime.
Agents from the UFAM (Family and Women Unit) and from the UDEV (Specialized and Violent Crime Unit) of the Gijón Police Station worked in various lines of researchThey reviewed recordings, collected testimonies and reconstructed the last hours of Lorena’s life.
All this list of indications as well as the analysis and examination of the remains found in the woman’s home, provided essential facts investigators to establish a comprehensive, discreet and effective search facility that has resulted in the alleged perpetrator being detained in just over 48 hours. The Investigating Court of Guard has decreed the summary secrecy of the proceedings, therefore, no more data or details of the investigation or the operation deployed to carry out this arrest can be provided.
According to her closest environment, the former partner of Lorena Dacuña, one of the main suspects in his death, he was “jealous” and had become “aggressive” when the woman broke the relationship last November. Few, however, knew that J. M. S. M. accumulated several previous crimes for ill-treatment and that was reported by at least two other women. “I was the first to report him; on the street we seemed very happy, but the problems, in these cases, always go inside,” says one of these former partners, who asks to remain anonymous for safety. “I had to move out of town and change my phone number because of all this,” he reasons.
