Andreas Samaris, 31, underwent surgery on the right Achilles tendon yesterday and is no longer playing this season.
The recovery will take at least three months and the Greek international midfielder also has the start of the next season compromised. Probably even more than that. Samaris’ future at Benfica is at risk and continuity will be discussed in the summer.
