The hiring of Ricardo Esgaio, 28-year-old right-back, who was rescued from SC Braga (see page 12), has become official. Rúben Amorim, coach of Sporting, can rub his hands with glee, as he now has a player he considers essential in the sense of making the lion stronger to face the difficult challenges that lie ahead in the 2021/2022 season.
But it is very likely that the leonine coach will sketch another smile very soon, when the leonine administration manages to close the acquisition of another player identified by it, in this case for the left flank, in the case of Rúben Vinagre, 22 years old. According to information gathered by A BOLA, the agreement for the transfer of this player to Alvalade is also imminent, with the last hurdle, which related to the purchase option clause, being practically overcome.
Here, if the lions preferred to have only the right of option for the definitive purchase of the player’s pass, the agreement should close with the lions keeping the option clause but with a mandatory nature, that is, at the end of the season they will even have to invest in the purchase of the footballer’s economic and sporting rights. The amount to be invested, moreover, will also already be defined: €8 M.
