German football was plagued by a new scandal related to racism. This Wednesday, Dennis Aogo, a former Sky Sport midfielder and commentator, posted a racist message from Jens Lehman, a former German international, on social media.
“Are you serious? This message was certainly not for me, ”wrote Aogo, showing a conversation in which Lehman referred to him as someone who“ fills the share of black commentators ”.
The former Arsenal goalkeeper has already come out to publicly apologize, but was eventually fired from Hertha Berlin’s management. “That message does not in any way represent the values by which the club is governed and, as such, we will distance ourselves.”, Says the club.
