This Saturday, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma broke Dino Zoff’s record with the most consecutive minutes without conceding a goal in the Italian national team.
The number 1 kept his goal at zero for 1,168 minutes, before being beaten in extra time, in the 115th minute, by Kalajdzic in the round of 16 game against Austria, surpassing the 1,143 minutes of Dino Zoff. Italy won 2-1.
“I overcame a legend and I’m very emotional, but personal records come later, as I work for the team to win”, said Donnarumma emotionally.
Italy have qualified for the quarter-finals and are waiting for the winner of Portugal-Belgium, playing this Sunday.
