The support is available in the fourth round of the European Union (EU) European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the Rural Development Program measure “Farm and Entrepreneurship Development” sub-measure “Support for young farmers to start a business”.
The acceptance of the fourth round of project applications will take place from August 9 to September 9.
The available public funding is distributed according to the principle of regionalization, taking into account the area declared for the single area payment (50%) and the territorial development index (50%).
Funding in the amount of 640,000 euros is available for the South Latgale Regional Agricultural Board, while for the East Latgale Regional Board – 600,000 euros. Funding in the amount of 560,000 euros has been allocated to the South Kurzeme Regional Agricultural Board, 520,000 euros to the Zemgale Regional Board, 480,000 euros each to the Central Latvia, North Vidzeme and Northeast Board, 440,000 euros to the North Kurzeme Board, and 240,000 euros to the Lielrīga Regional Board.
The RSS indicates that the applicant shall prepare a business plan for at least three calendar years, but not for a longer period than until 31 December 2024.

Project applications must be submitted using the RSS electronic application system.
The RSS is a state institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, which administers the European Union Agricultural Fund resources and direct payments to farmers.
