The production “Rotkho” is a collaboration between the Daile Theater and the young, extraordinary Polish director Lukash Tvarkowski, whose name is gaining more and more attention in Europe. Daile Theater really wanted this cooperation, because, as the theater director Juris Žagars admits – very soon the Polish director will be so demanded that it will be very difficult to attract him to Riga.
Tvarkowski started working on the project “Rotkho” two years ago, and the process of creating the show was significantly different from the usual way of staging. First, the director came to Riga in the so-called first session and developed an idea for the show in an experimental work with the creative team, and only then did the play and its production become. Juris Žagars promises spectators something unseen in Latvia and honestly admits that it will be difficult to find a second project that has required so much adrenaline from him and Daile Theater.
