NYPD stops a rented party bus in Brooklyn

Dozens of people are facing charges after police found eight loaded pistols inside a rented party bus in Brooklyn late Thursday night.

The NYPD reported that it received a call alerting about a rented party bus that contained several firearms, belonging to officers of the NYPD youth coordination program.

Officers ordered the group to stop the vehicle near York Street and Front Street in Dumbo; a little after midnight on Friday.

Officers said they removed 40 people from the bus.

Eleven adults and three minors face charges for illegal possession of weapons.

The Police confiscated a total of 58 projectiles.

On the other hand, the agents have not yet clarified where the detainees came from or where they were going.

However, additional charges may be imposed after the investigation is complete.

The NYPD revealed that they made 486 arrests for gun possession in January, representing the most arrests within the same month in the past 25 years.
