For Mother’s Day, NYC Health and Hospitals has teamed up with Carnegie Hall to give a group of mothers the ability to create personalized lullabies for their newborns.
The “Lullaby Project” was created by the famous concert hall in 2011.
Sixteen parents had the opportunity to write their own songs alongside professional musicians and perform them in a recording studio.
Over the past 12 years, some 800 families have participated in the project, creating lullabies in more than 20 languages.
Health and Hospitals says that creating and singing these songs helps the well-being of families by supporting maternal health and early childhood development.
