“New Philips Ultra Efficient LED Lamps Use 40% Less Energy and Last up to 50 Years”

Signify, the company that makes lighting under the Philips brand, has presented a new series of LED lamps designed to be installed in sockets for traditional light bulbs. The new series is called Philips Ultra Efficient LED and, according to Signify, should consume 40 percent less energy than similar LED lamps.

Signify also states that the life of the lamps should be three times longer than similar LED lamps, which means that it should work for an average of 50 years in a household where the lamp is on for three hours a day. The lamps will be sold in three different variants corresponding to 60W, 65W and 100W.

In terms of price, the Philips Ultra Efficient LED looks to be a bit more expensive than similar alternatives. The 60W and 65W variants cost around $10 each while the 100W variant costs around $15. If or when Philips Ultra Efficient LED appears on the Swedish market, we have not found any information yet.
