-A new experience in your fledgling career. What feelings do you have of making your debut in a contest of this magnitude?

-I was extremely happy because it is my first ATP main draw and that it is in Argentina where I had never been makes me happy. It is a great opportunity that I have to try to rise in the ranking and to play against great players so I am very eager to start the tournament.

-First time in the country and you can’t go through it because of the bubble theme, but have you already tried the meat?

“Yes, yes,” he says emphatically. I think it’s very good. Many people told me about it and told me before coming that I had to eat it and, without a doubt, it is great. Obviously we cannot move or leave the hotel, but every time I came to the club I could see the surroundings from the bus and Argentina seems like a beautiful place, the people are super polite and nice and that is why I am happy to be here.

-Juan Manuel Cerúndolo won a title without having had experience in an ATP draw, do you think you could do the same?

I am really impressed. It’s a very good thing, but winning an ATP shouldn’t be easy at all. He played fantastic and makes me very happy for him and I hope he continues like this. We have shared tournaments and I feel very welcome when I spend time with him and other Argentines.

-Your favorite surface is brick dust and in Argentina we had and have great players. Do you follow any of them or watch their matches?

-For reasons of age I could see a little of their careers and they played very well. I know that Nalbandian is as coach (of Kecmanovic) I could see him play in his time and he was a great talent. A lot of Argentines are good and being able to be here is great to continue learning.

-What goals do you set for this year?

-The idea is to qualify for the main draw at the French Open and I think I have a great opportunity to score points here to get closer to the goal of qualifying. Then by the end of the year I would like to get into the top 100. It’s a big step, but I think I can do it. My dreams are to win several Grand Slam, reach No. 1 and be like Roger Federer.

– Do you feel identified with the Swiss?

-He is my greatest idol and my favorite player. He’s an excellent player and he’s also a great person off the pitch. I had the opportunity to train with him, chat after training and it was a great experience that I will not forget.

-Your game and your achievements as Juniors are encouraging. Do you feel the pressure in your country?

-Denmark is not a country with a lot of tennis tradition, but more and more people are interested in the sport, but we still don’t have big tournaments. Yes it can be a pressure that many people expect too much from me because of what I did at Junior level, but I don’t feel the pressure and, in fact, I play better with it.

-As a centennial, do you think tennis needs to make certain changes to adapt to the new generations?

-The truth is, no. I think the important thing is that new players come out to attract the public. For Cerúndlo to win a title, the level of Sinner, tennis needs new players in the Top-100 so that the public can find other tennis players and hopefully I can be one of them as soon as possible.
