Marika Gombitová Returns to Prague for Sold-Out Concert at O2 Arena

On Tuesday, the sold-out Prague O2 arena applauded the Slovak singer Marica Gombitová, who returned to the Czech Republic for a concert after a long time. Touch, happiness and gratitude are the feelings experienced by the iconic performer with an enthusiastic audience. Her biggest hits were played and a number of star guests took turns on the stage. The singer gave an exclusive interview to the Nova TV crew after the concert.

An icon of the Czechoslovak music scene, a career spanning 48 years and an extensive repertoire, this is Marika Gombitová. The Prague audience rewarded her with a standing ovation.

“I feel wonderful, the guests were great and the concert was wonderful. I am very happy that it worked out, that people came, we were connected to each other by a special energy. It was just wonderful,” confided the Slovak singer.

He considers his fans to be his family. “They have supported me, they have been loyal to me for years. So this concert is a thank you for all those years,” she added.

​In addition to classic hits, she also presented the audience with two new songs that she wrote with lyricist Kamil Peteraj. They were officially played for the first time in Prague’s O2 arena.

“They are the songs Fantom srdce and Stoupání. I’ve been putting them together for a long time and I’m glad that we presented them in concert form,” Gombitová shared her joy about the new hits.

Among the guests, well-known artists from the Czech Republic and Slovakia appeared on the stage, namely Felix Slováček, the East Slovak group Kandračovci or the founder of the legendary band Modus, and the musician Ján Lehotský, who discovered Marika Gombitová.

Gombitová will repeat the concert in Prague one more time, on January 30 again at the O2 arena.
