April is in full swing and sometimes it makes one’s head spin. Especially when he opens Twitter and a post pops up where ASUS presents its first handheld console under the Republic of Gamers brand. If only one render or a few seconds of preview was revealed, I’d rather say it’s a joke. But with a full trailer that’s three minutes long…
The trend of handheld game consoles after the successful release of Steam Deck and the absolute boom around it a number of PC accessory manufacturers caught on, such as Logitech or Razer (albeit for cloud gaming devices). A number of handhelds with the ability to start even the most demanding computer machines were also created in the workshops of Chinese companies, think for example of the startups AYANEO or AOKZOE. Will ASUS join all these names?

At the beginning of the demo, ASUS reminds us that it is constantly trying to push the boundaries of gaming – for example, it is still working on thin devices with brutal performance. Now the Taiwanese giant was supposed to use all its know-how to create the ROG Ally handheld, which is powered by the Windows 11 operating system and an unspecified chip from AMD. For even higher performance, it also has support for an external ROG XG Mobile graphics card, thanks to which it will be possible to stream games to a larger screen. ASUS further entices to sophisticated cooling and FullHD display.
In terms of design, the console looks very similar to some competing devices. But its controls are enriching RGB lights, which make it even more pronounced. In addition, her entire body is white.
ASUS has already created for this occasion page in the Best Buy e-shop, which is intended for customers from the USA or Canada. Those interested can sign up for the newsletter and will be notified as soon as the device is available for purchase.
