For the first time in history, a Latvian company manages to enter the top of the Financial Times rating

The company told LETA that the company from Latvia managed to reach the top fifty of the list for the first time in history.

The Financial Times’ annual ranking includes the 1,000 fastest-growing companies in Europe, which have been able to show the largest overall revenue growth in the last four years. Sun Finance’s revenue ratio increased approximately 619 times during the period considered.

Tom Jurjev, CEO and Founder of Sun Finance, acknowledged that the company is happy to be recognized in this level of competition.

“Ever since the company’s inception, we have always thought in a global context, as evidenced by the rapid growth from three employees to a team of 750 people in seven countries and a turnover of over € 100 million in the fourth year of operation. The result of the strategy, said Jurjevs.

According to representatives of Sun Finance, only one company from the Baltic States has managed to reach the top fifty of the fastest growing companies so far. Namely, in 2019 and 2020, the world-renowned Estonian technology company “Bolt” took the third place, which ranks 16th this year. By contrast, Lithuania has not yet reached the top of the rating.

“This means that Sun Finance, with the second place, shows the highest achievement of all the Baltic countries.” Of course, we are happy to bring Latvia’s name to the world. We hope that the example of “Sun Finance” will inspire other Latvian companies, as well as draw the attention of global investors to our country, “said Jurjevs.

In order to enter the rating, the company’s revenue in the first year of operation had to exceed at least 100,000 euros. At the same time, revenue growth had to be presented as organic, while the company’s headquarters had to be located in Europe. Companies that met these criteria applied to be included in the “FT 1000” list.

The list is compiled in cooperation with the data of the market research company “Statista”. The rating pays attention to the financial indicators of the specific period, which are presented when offering services and selling products.

Sun Finance is a financial technology company founded in Riga. The company operates as an online consumer finance platform in seven countries and on three continents, with its head office in Riga. Sun Finance currently has more than 4.3 million registered customers and more than 800 million euros in loans since its inception. Sun Finance employs more than 750 people, 148 of whom work at the company’s head office in Riga.

According to Firmas.lv, the real beneficiary of the Sun Finance group of companies registered in Latvia is Aigars Kesenfelds.
