Disputes regarding compensation for the allegedly spoiled funeral of Vilém Čok’s mother resulted in a dispute lasting several months. The singer refuses to be satisfied with the compensation offered by the funeral home for not delivering part of the flowers for the funeral, and demands more for the trauma caused. But the company is fighting back. According to the manager of the funeral home, the amount that Čok demands from the company is unrealistic.
Vilém Čok, singer and showman, got into a fight on Thursday over his mother’s funeral. The funeral home from which he ordered the services did not meet his expectations. Instead of the ordered flowers, only a coffin was waiting for Čok in the hall. His mother loved flowers, and the fact that the singer had to say goodbye to her without a single flower from him hurt him deeply. We reported on his confession HERE.
The editors of TN.cz also turned to the Pegas funeral home and asked for a statement. The institute admitted its wrongdoing. Čok actually ordered flowers to display the casket in the crematorium and, according to the institute, he did so in two orders. But the second one was not realized due to the fault of the funeral home employee. “We didn’t deliver three of the six bouquets,” company manager Jiří Haman told TN.cz.
In addition, Čok is said to have only ordered the display of the coffin in the premises of the terrible crematorium for the closest family members. “I would like to emphasize that the ordered service was not a classic funeral ceremony with mourners, but rather a separate exhibition of the deceased in the premises of the crematorium, which are intended for this act,” said Haman. The company allegedly accommodated him by displaying the casket directly in the ceremony room instead of the exhibition box.
Disputes about compensation
Even so, the unsuccessful funeral of Vilém Čok’s mother did not leave him alone. Although the employee who forgot to order the flowers apologized to him, it was not enough for Čok. Even the supposed apology letter from the manager was not enough for him, nor was it when the company returned the amount for the undelivered bouquets and the entire funeral.
“Mr. Čok, however, insisted on additional compensation,” Haman told TN.cz. As we already reported yesterday, further compensation was supposed to be 100,000 for confidentiality and compensation. “However, such compensation is not possible according to our business conditions and I personally believe that it is not even justifiable in any way,” Haman responded.
“I once again expressed my regret over the whole matter, but I could no longer offer the client further financial compensation. Nevertheless, I informed him that if it was his wish, our company would arrange for him to place a funeral bouquet at the grave site or other place of worship according to his wishes, and again for free,” added Haman.
A four-week vacation
The singer was also burned out when the company stopped answering his phones and responding to messages and e-mails. According to Haman, however, he went on a four-week vacation, so Čok really couldn’t catch up with him. “I’m on a disability pension and I always dedicate part of the summer to my health and family,” explained Haman.
“Mr. Čok has not contacted anyone else from our company, although he could have done so at any time. In conclusion, I would like to state that our offer to lay a funeral bouquet is still valid,” adds Haman.
The company is said to be planning to issue an official statement on the whole incident.
