This was decided by the Sofia City Court minutes ago. He was serving a 7-month sentence for drink-driving, with 2 months and 14 days remaining. Until his sentence expires, Tokev can drive, but must register at a permanent address.
An application for early parole from prison in Kazichene was filed by the famous chef’s lawyers.
“The person is extremely erudite and educated, so that he can learn a lesson and correct his behavior,” the judge reasoned.
The famous chef accepted full responsibility for the criminal behavior, admitted his guilt and demonstrated attitudes to change his behavior, the court found.
“I want to say that I am very well aware of my mistake. In prison I work 12 hours a day. With scarce products I showed a new level of cooking. I created conditions how to work. From 30 percent attendance in the chair, now it is 80 percent. There are huge queues for food. I exercise every day between 2 and 3 hours. I am learning how to exercise. I wrote a project – let’s play games and socialize. The boss liked the project, but there is no way to implement it. I had many conversations with young people. I think that all these things contributed to me being well socialized. I think I’m ready to leave prison and be useful to my family”Andre Tokev said in the courtroom.
Tokev’s adaptation process went smoothly. He was balanced, he also lacked hostility, which meant that he had no addictions, including to alcohol.
In the prison, he worked and demonstrated good behavior, both towards the employees and towards other inmates. He participated in educational and sports activities.
The prosecutor’s office indicated that they will not protest his early release.
“I sincerely hope that Andre Tokev and I will not see each other again in the courtrooms. They gave him great confidence that this will not happen again,” said the prosecutor in the case.
At the beginning of the year, Tokev admitted his guilt and entered into an agreement with the prosecutor’s office.
