The movement “Servir o Benfica” advanced this Tuesday that asked President Rui Costa for clarification on the audit process, a “commitment” that was assumed in the electoral campaign, questioning, for example, who is carrying out the inspection.
«Server o Benfica sent a message today addressed to the President of the Board of Directors Rui Costa, requesting clarifications regarding the audit of the Sport Lisboa e Benfica business group, whose commitment it assumed in the last election campaign. The union of associates is fundamental for the pursuit of Sport Lisboa e Benfica’s sporting objectives, thus it is essential that the transparency of the ongoing process guarantees and safeguards the future of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, allowing for the definitive eradication of past practices», refers, and then there are nine questions addressed to Rui Costa.
“1. Which entity performed the forensic audit work?
2. How was the selection of the entity that carried out the work carried out?
3. Is it a completely independent entity in relation to the SLB Group and the main persons responsible for the companies?
4. What was the time period under review in the requested audit?
5. Was any suspicion of illegality detected? What conclusions were reached?
6. What measures/decisions have already been taken/decided regarding these situations?
7. What measures/decisions have already been taken by this Directorate or are they planned, in light of the offenses that have come to light, namely regarding the constitution of the SLB as an assistant in the legal proceedings?
8. Do the situations detected include those related to operations/transactions which, although documented, have nothing to do with the activity of the companies of the Benfica Group, possibly for the benefit of someone, but not society?
9. Which companies in the Benfica Group were audited? Only SAD or the Club, or were all those belonging to the Group included?”
