Al-Marsad newspaper: A nutritionist has revealed 4 foods that can help stop annoying hair loss and promote its growth.
Nutritionist Abbas Kinani said the foods are sweet potatoes, spinach, fatty fish and eggs. According to “Russia Today”.
He pointed out that these foods naturally contain vitamin D, which helps hair growth and reduces hair loss by supporting the glands in the scalp to produce an oily substance known as sebum.
He added that sebum helps keep the scalp hydrated, which in turn promotes hair growth and stops hair loss.
The expert recommended choosing at least one serving of fatty fish per week (salmon, sardines, herring and mackerel), which is equivalent to about 140 grams.
“If these four foods don’t sound appealing to you, there are other options that can boost the health of your hair,” he added, recommending another food group is nuts and meat because they are rich in a B vitamin called biotin.
“Biotin works by helping to produce keratin, a protein that helps strengthen hair and prevent damage to its follicles,” he said. “Biotin has been shown to promote hair growth and reduce the rate of hair loss.”
