The Refereeing Council was forced to make a change in the refereeing team for next Wednesday’s match between Sporting and Santa Clara, counting for the League Cup semi-final. Nuno Almeida, the head referee who was initially appointed to direct the match, is injured.
In this sense, the Refereeing Council decided that António Nobre, previously appointed to the functions of VAR in this match, will become the main referee, while Nuno Almeida will perform the duties of video-referee. The rest of the team will be kept in the same roles as they were initially assigned, with André Campos and Pedro Felisberto as assistants, André Narciso as the 4th referee and Nélson Pereira taking on the AVAR functions.
