However, since his ‘relegation’, the Frenchman has been performing exceptionally well. This season he is already on 66 points and has already scored a podium. Gasly had therefore hoped that Red Bull would reconsider him for a seat in 2022. However, this did not happen.

Gasly is not rewarded for performance

He also knows all too well that Gasly has performed exceptionally at AlphaTauri this season. The 25-year-old driver from Rouen knows the statistics by heart. “With the results I get this year, I’m adding the best season of all drivers Red Bull and AlphaTauri, since the team started in Formula 1 fifteen years ago, and I’m not being rewarded for it,” Gasly snaps at the French team’s camera. Gasly had hoped his performance would not have gone unnoticed at Red Bull Racing, but they decided to break open and extend Pérez’s contract.
