Whatsapp secure messaging has been available on PC for a long time, but so far the Windows version only came as a supplement to the mobile version.
To access the application on a PC, you must always have the messaging system on your smartphone and validate each new connection from your mobile terminal.

Things will change, however: Facebook has announced a first phase of testing for a new version of the application that would allow WhatsApp to be used on 4 different devices simultaneously, and that would no longer have to identify yourself on your smartphone to access the PC version.
Each device will have its own encryption key to ensure optimal security. In fact, data will no longer need to transit to the mobile version of the application to benefit from end-to-end encryption.
Facebook said the testing phase should last a few weeks before a larger rollout.
