Merdeka.com – Xiaomi announced the appointment of Wentao Zhao as the new Country Director for Xiaomi Indonesia. Wentao has fourteen years of experience in the smartphone industry and has lived in Indonesia for more than ten years.
Previously, Wentao was the Head of Offline Sales for Xiaomi Indonesia. Wentao will continue his leadership at Xiaomi Indonesia after previously helping develop the global technology company’s business in the country with his predecessor, Alvin Tse.

Meanwhile, the previous Country Director of Xiaomi Indonesia, Alvin Tse, will later carry out new duties and responsibilities as General Manager, Xiaomi India.
“I will miss Indonesia! I had an amazing experience in Indonesia after working with so many supportive partners and building relationships with many passionate Xiaomi fans. I believe in our smartphone and AIoT business which continues to grow rapidly and I know the team Indonesia will be in good hands with Wentao,” said Alvin Tse.
“Wentao is someone who works well in a team, a leader who listens a lot, and is ready to take Xiaomi to the next level. I look forward to the rapid growth of the Indonesian team in the years to come,” added Alvin.
Meanwhile, Wentao said, having worked at Xiaomi for the last three years and working in Indonesia for more than ten years, he strongly believes that Xiaomi’s culture and vision will continue to bring innovation to more Indonesian consumers and households.
“I hope to build a solid foundation, lead the Indonesian team in this exciting period, and answer the wishes of Xiaomi fans with an extraordinary product range and at an actual price,” he explained.
