Al-Marsad newspaper: A video clip circulating on social media documented a woman taking her mother to a “nursing home” to put her in in Egypt.
The daughter took her mother to the “home for the elderly” and left her in front of the door, but the elderly woman refused to enter, as the video showed.
The daughter said to the nursing home official after her mother refused to enter: “She has Alzheimer’s, and she throws herself in the street and in cars. Everyone says I will take her and no one takes her.”
The daughter continued: “God knows me. I am taking care of my family and I cannot. I do not know how to treat her or take her to the hospital. Tell me what should I do? Have mercy on me. She is being thrown in the street. Take her and I will still come and see her.”
For her part, the 71-year-old elderly woman replied to her daughter: “You are a liar, and I will not enter the nursing home.”
