Ultimate Guide to Visiting Brooklyn Bridge Park in New York City

One of the great attractions of our city is the wide variety of parks and other public places, available for the enjoyment of the whole family.

One of them is Brooklyn Bridge Park, with 85 acres of land along the East River on the Brooklyn borough side.

Brooklyn Bridge Park is relatively new.

The first part, Pier 1, opened in 2010.

The park land was formerly a waterfront industrial area owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The space is divided into eleven sections, and each of these sections features unique topographies, floor plans, amenities, artifacts, and cultural facilities.

The park, located near DUMBO, includes engineering features such as a water garden used as a storm recovery system, a series of hills to block noise from the BQE Highway, and several areas designed with microclimates.

It also incorporates several natural habitats, which have attracted several species of wildlife.

Brooklyn Bridge Park offers a host of activities for all ages throughout the year, including cultural, sporting, educational and musical events.

To get to the park you can use trains A, C, 2, 3, 4, 5, F and R. Also bus routes B25, B61, B63 and B67).

Another option is the ferry from New York to Fulton Ferry Landing and Pier 6.
