TWK Does Not Become A Policy To Retrieve 75 KPK Officers

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the national insight test (TWK) in the context of changing the status of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) employees to the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) could not be the basis for dismissing 75 employees of anti-corruption institutions who did not pass the test.

“Result TWK “It should be used as input for corrective measures for the Corruption Eradication Commission, both for individuals and KPK institutions, and this will not necessarily be the basis for terminating 75 KPK employees who do not pass the test,” said Jokowi, Monday (17/5).

Jokowi agrees with the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which states that the transfer of the status of KPK employees to ASN does not harm employees.

“The KPK must have HR best and high commitment in eradicating corruption. Therefore, the transfer of status to ASN must be part of efforts to eradicate corruption more systematically, “he said.

Previously, 75 KPK employees were declared not to have passed the national insight test (TWK) as a condition for changing their status to become the State Civil Apparatus (ASN). Following these results the Chairman of the KPK, Firli Bahuri, issued Decree Number 652 of 2021 concerning the deactivation of 75 employees of anti-meat institutions.

KPK investigator Novel Baswedan, one of the employees who was also found to have failed TWK, said he would file an objection to the head of the anti-graft agency regarding the decree.

Novel and 74 other KPK employees objected because the SK included points that employees who did not pass TWK were asked to hand over their duties and responsibilities to their respective superiors.

On the other hand, said Novel, the KPK Supervisory Board has not done anything related to the deactivation of 75 anti-corruption institution employees who failed the national insight test in order to change their status to ASN.

“Earlier we got an answer from the head of the dewas that he had not taken any action, had not taken any policies, assessments, or decisions regarding the decree issued by Firli Bahuri. Not at all,” said Novel at the KPK building, Jakarta, Monday (17/5) .
