They organize a vigil for the murdered delivery boy

The family of Elias Castillo, the food delivery man killed in the middle of this month, holds a vigil in his memory.

The attack took place on Sunday, September 18, around 8:00 pm in front of 238 116th Street in East Harlem.

Castillo, 29, received a gunshot wound to the abdomen while enjoying a street festival.

His death occurred some time later in the hospital due to his injuries.

Those present at the vigil strongly criticized the poor response of the police during the emergency, the investigation into the case and the increase in violence in the city.

“I ask justice for Elias who is my brother and for the community. We are tired that there is a lot of death every day, there is no security. We are paying the taxes. As Hispanics they are not giving us that support. We want justice, “said one attendee.

According to Castillo’s relatives, the immigrant could have survived if the police responded more quickly to the emergency.

So far there are no arrests in the case and the family is raising money for her funeral on a GoFund me account.
