For several years, rumors have been heard about the return of Touch ID to iPhones. This time, information about this appeared on Twitter. Will it prove real this year?
Three years ago, Apple gave up putting Touch ID in its smartphones. Instead, technology has emerged Face IDwhich everyone did not like immediately. After three years, however, we are all used to this change.
However, there is information that may indicate that the company is working on returning to the fingerprint reader in a new, changed form – under the screen.

Leakster L0vetodream posted an entry on Friday with the enigmatic phrase “MESA uts for iPhone”. MESA means just Touch ID, while uts stands for “under the screen”.

Touch ID still alive in iPads
Touch ID is still present in Apple devices. New ones have just debuted at the conference iPady Air equipped with a fingerprint reader. In this case, however, it is not below the screen, but on the device power button. However, we hope that in iPhones the company will decide on the version of the reader under the screen.

A good solution for difficult times
Restoring Touch ID definitely sounds like a sensible solution, especially in the times we live in. Smartphones can’t cope with unlocking when we have a mask on our face, and now it happens very often. It would be much easier to be able to unlock the device with a fingerprint reader.
The new feature may appear on iPhones in 2021. It would definitely make life easier for many users. Hopefully, by then, we’ll forget about covering our faces every day.
