The Legacy of Karel Svoboda: A Celebration of his Hits and Influence

His hits were sung by a whole galaxy of stars. Daniel Hůlka (55) sang Lady Carneval, Tři oříšky or About to the Towers, Marian Vojtko (50), Milan Peroutka (33), Michaela Gemrotová (37), Jitka Boho (32) and many others. Svoboda’s eldest son Petr (43) was also there, who recently published a sensational book about his father, Žít – Karel Svoboda. His presence was the reason why the composer’s second wife, whose name Petr cannot come up with, did not arrive at the celebration. According to him, it is the stepmother who is to blame for the fact that their marriage with the composer was unhappy for many years.

Actor Saša Rašilov: He won the role of Karel Svoboda (†68) in the miniseries Iveta! What did he do for it?

She didn’t forget!

But Vendula did not forget Karel, at least she shared a touching confession on Instagram. “A theme for a novel. Love, emotion, genius, destiny, experience, perception, gift. I’m so sorry I can’t wish you a happy birthday the way I wanted to. Thanks,” she wrote to Svoboda, with whom she has a son Jakub (18).

Cinderella Boho

She literally shone among the performers. Jitka Boho sang the title song of the fairy tale Three Nuts for Cinderella. After all, Jitka really looked like Cinderella. She was wearing a fluffy pale blue dress that made her look like a real princess.

The name of the successful composer Karel Svoboda (*19.12.1938 Prague – †28.1.2007) is not only associated with the songwriting of leading Czech singers, but also with music for domestic and foreign films and television series. In 1985, Supraphon released an LP album with his music from the TV series Visitors and Flying Chestmír.
